A little bit about our baby unit…

Within the baby unit the staff work closely with parents to ensure that each child’s individual needs and routine is met throughout the day. A daily report book is completed each day explaining how much your child has eaten, change of nappies and what they have been doing during the day. Strong bonds and attachments are built up between the children and their key worker in order for the babies to feel secure in their nursery environment. A variety of activities are planned to support and enhance each child’s development.

What does a typical day look like?

Here at Good Manors our aim is to ensure that children enjoy their time with us, whilst being looked after in a caring and safe environment. We do so through our daily routine which has been perfected over the course of our 20 years in the childcare industry. Whilst routine is subject to change depending on things such as weather and seasonal events, here is an overview of what you can expect for your child at Good Manors.

The children take part in a wide range of age appropriate activities, this includes both indoor play and outside play. The activities cover all areas of the EYFS. Our messy play activities can include both sand play and water play, baked bean play, cereal play, playdough, painting, gluing and sticking. Our children also enjoy music and movement, construction activities, small world play and role play opportunities.

We encourage the children to explore the outdoors every day and they often enjoy playing in the messy garden, with the outdoor sand or mud pit, climbing on the climbing frame and various other garden activities such as play with balls, hoops, bikes and obstacle courses. When possible we like to take our children out to explore the wider community and go for walks to the local park, to the local shops and occasionally further afield to places like the farm.

We offer full day childcare, 51 weeks of the year excluding public holidays, from 8am to 6pm, five days a week. We have a minimum attendance of 2 sessions per week.

At Good Manors you can expect your child to be fed a range of nutritious and yummy meals! By following a carefully constructed menu that is regularly updated, we provide our children with healthy meals that give them the energy they need. Our chef works closely with parents if there is a specific dietary requirement, to make sure everyone is getting the food they need. See below our latest food menus.
