A little bit about our Pre-School …

This is when the children start to build up and develop their knowledge on what they have already learnt. We provide a variety of activities and experiences for the children, to develop their enquiring active minds and to enable them to become independent and confident learners. Parents are given personal handovers from staff about their child’s day. The staff not only support the children within the nursery environment but also in the wider environment outside of the nursery with visits and outings. Good manors had developed a school readiness programme to equip the children for their transition to school.

More about the curriculum

What does a typical day look like?

Here at Good Manors our aim is to ensure that children enjoy their time with us, whilst being looked after in a caring and safe environment. Activities

The children take part in a wide range of age appropriate activities, this includes both indoor play and outside play. The activities cover all areas of the EYFS. Our messy play activities can include both sand play and water play, baked bean play, cereal play, playdough, painting, gluing and sticking. Our children also enjoy music and movement, construction activities, small world play and role play opportunities.

We encourage the children to explore the outdoors every day and they often enjoy playing in the messy garden, with the outdoor sand or mud pit, climbing on the climbing frame and various other garden activities such as play with balls, hoops, bikes and obstacle courses. When possible we like to take our children out to explore the wider community and go for walks to the local park, to the local shops and occasionally further afield to places like the farm.

Sessions

We offer full day childcare, 51 weeks of the year excluding public holidays, from 8am to 6pm, five days a week. We have a minimum attendance of 2 sessions per week.
