A little bit about our Tweenie room…

In the tweenie room the children start to gain new skills, develop their already existing skills and start to form personal preferences within their play. At this age the children are encouraged to start making choices within the activities that they take part in throughout the day, this is in preparation for their transition to pre-school. Parents are given personal handovers from staff about their child’s day. The staff offer guidance and support on toilet training, which is a question that we often get asked.

Activities

The children take part in a wide range of age appropriate activities, this includes both indoor play and outside play. The activities cover all areas of the EYFS. Our messy play activities can include both sand play and water play, baked bean play, cereal play, playdough, painting, gluing and sticking, to name a few! Our children also enjoy music and movement, construction activities, small world play and role play opportunities.

We encourage the children to explore the outdoors every day and they often enjoy playing in the messy garden, with the outdoor sand or mud pit, climbing on the climbing frame and various other garden activities such as play with balls, hoops, bikes and obstacle courses. When possible we like to take our children out to explore the wider community and go for walks to the local park, to the local shops and occasionally further afield.

Sessions

We offer full day childcare, 51 weeks of the year excluding public holidays, from 8:00am to 6:00pm, five days a week. We close for a week between Christmas and New Year.
